Wartburg awards the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, and Bachelor of Applied Arts or Bachelor of Applied Science degrees. A Wartburg education provides excellent preparation for graduate or professional study.
Wartburg College has a diverse study body with students from about 40 U.S. states and about 50 other countries. International students comprise approximately 8-9% percent of the student body. Wartburg College offers two levels of admission for non-U.S. citizen applicants. Students may choose from the SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, or EIKEN exams. Only one test score is required.
Regular admission students must achieve the following minimum test scores:
Bridge Program students are formally admitted to the bachelor’s degree program but must take the Transitional American English Language and Culture (EI 195) course as part of their first-semester course load for academic credit. Minimum test result requirements are as follows:
Students who have studied at a secondary or post-secondary institution where English is the language of instruction should consider taking the SAT or ACT as an alternative to one of the above exams. Students may be required to take a test of English language capability after their arrival on campus to ensure proper class registration.
EducationUSA is a global network of more than 450 advising centers supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. EducationUSA centers actively promote United States higher education around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, objective and timely information about educational opportunities in the United States and guidance to qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities. Centers are staffed by professional advisers, many of whom have first-hand experience having studied in the United States themselves, and/or having received State Department-approved training about United States higher education and the advising process.
International Baccalaureate higher level exams results of 5 or higher receive academic credit at Wartburg College.
Wartburg College has a long tradition of attracting students from around the world. This is reflected in the college’s designation as an approved location for Davis United World College Scholars.
Since 1997, the college has hosted students from central Asia and eastern Europe through the Eurasian Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD – formerly FSAU) currently administered by IREX. The college has active, long-standing student exchange programs with Bonn (Germany) University and the International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan.
