Wartburg College Dining Services strives to provide customers with great service, quality food, and convenience. Dining is more than just food—our locations offer inviting areas for students, staff, faculty, and guests to gather for meetings, have a meal together, and to relax.

Wartburg College is a residential campus. For this reason, Wartburg offers a variety of dining services that allow students flexibility and choice. Whether it’s eating a full-scale meal in Mensa, picking up a sandwich at the Den, or ordering specialty drinks at the Konditorei and Zesty Orange, dining services offers a variety of foods that are ready whenever you are. Students, both on and off campus, have meal plan options to accommodate their needs. Click the link below for more details.

Wartburg College Dining Service offers 20 standard meals per week in Mensa, the all-you-care-to-eat dining facility. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, and brunch and dinner on Sunday. In addition to Mensa, there are three quick service eateries on campus: the Den-Rittersaal, Konditorei (also a coffee house), and Zesty Orange. Times of service vary by location and days of the week; there are numerous ways and flexible times for students to eat. This helps accommodate busy student schedules.

On-Campus Students
All on-campus students are required to have a food plan. The plans are all the same price. The various food plan options offer different combinations of mealspoints (dollars to spend on food items at any of the dining locations), and bonus meals (extra meals to use in Mensa for self or others).

Food plan weekly meals are tracked Sunday through Saturday and refresh each Sunday. Points and bonus meals are for the semester and get debited as they are used; they do not refresh each Sunday. Unused points (dollars with the plan) roll to the following semester as long as the student has a food plan, through the end of May term. In addition to eating in Mensa, students may use food plan meals to get sack lunches from Mensa or meals (called meal transfers) in the Den and Konditorei, on weekdays. Up to 5 food plan meals may be used in a day. Additional money in the form of All Campus Spending (ACS), can be added to any student account.

Changing the Food Plan
If a student would like to change their plan, the deadline is 4:30 p.m., on the first add/drop deadline of the term. Plan changes are made in the dining service central office (where ID pictures are taken). This allows students a little time at the start of the semester to see how their schedules work with the selected plan. Students may ask any dining cashier on campus, or stop in the dining central office, to check which plan they are on. In the event a student does not select a plan, the system will default to an 18-meal plan.

Off-Campus Students
Food plans are available to off-campus students. Students should stop in the dining service central office (where ID pictures are taken) for a list of plans and prices, and to sign up. The plan cost can be added to the student’s college bill. Off-campus students may also add All Campus Spending (ACS) to their account and use that to purchase food.

Sack Meals
There is no need to miss a meal. A sack meal is available in Mensa for students who have a class conflict or work obligation during the meal period. Simply present your Wartburg ID to the checker between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. in the Mensa, Monday through Friday. A set-up will be provided to properly package and transport your meal. For weekend meals, prior arrangements must be made with the Dining Services Office. Groups and organizations requesting sack meal exchanges must make arrangements with the Dining Services Office. 

Orders must be placed by NOON at least 4 full business days before the date of pick up. Saturdays and Sundays are not counted as business days due to the Dining Office not being open. There is a limit of 2 sack meals per day per person. If an order is placed after this time frame, Dining Services does reserve the right to refuse service and will not be responsible for making the meals in the request. Please send all sack meal requests to chris.fosselman@wartburg.edu in the Dining Services Office.

Picnics & Special Meals
If your residence floor, club, or organization would like to have a special meal or picnic, contact Dining Services at least two weeks in advance at ext. 8303.  Picnics are available Monday through Friday in exchange for the evening meal.

Sick Sack
For students who are ill, a sick sack is available Monday-Friday from 6:30 -10 a.m. in Mensa. Have the Noah Campus Health Clinic, your RA or RHD sign a sick sack form, which is available in their offices, and present the signed form to the Mensa cashier. 

Method of Payment

1. Meal Exchange: no charge to students on food plans. 
2. Purchase through Dining Services (when requested in advance): $8.00 per person.

When placing an order, please indicate which organization needs to be billed, as well as the 12-digit account number of that organization.

Do you, or someone you know, have a dietary restriction?  Are you looking for some nutritional information?  We are here to help!  Wartburg Dining Services has provided an abundance of resources, and has a nutrition adviser on staff. Dining Services works with students who have medically affected diets, such as food allergies, and help them find meals that accommodate their special dietary needs. If you have a medical condition that affects your diet, please contact Dining Services at (319) 352-8303. Below you can find resources for various health conditions, including conditions that may require dietary restrictions, as well as other nutrition information. 

  • To set up your account, use Firefox or Chrome.
  • When creating an account on GET, you must use your full Wartburg email address and your entire ID number (including all of the zeros). Your user ID is your full email address.
  • GET mobile app is still under development and may not work correctly all of the time. If you are having problems, try using a laptop or PC.
  • When scheduling a time to pick up your meal, GET does not delete a time slot when it is full. The system will allow you to keep trying for a new time slot. Once the order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation. Keep this email until it is picked up.
  • GET now allows you to cancel your own order by clicking the Get Food link. On the bottom right side it has My Recent Orders. Click Cancel on the Order that you want to cancel. You will receive an email confirmation of the cancellation.
  • You can add money to your All Campus Spending (ACS) account by credit card on GET. There is a $1.50 service charge.
  • If you receive an error message after starting your account, please go out and sign back in using your full email address and the password that you created. The system should work for you. If it doesn’t work, please contact Dining Services at (319) 352-8303.

Table Tents
Table tents are available in the Mensa, Konditorei, and Den-Rittersaal for campus groups to use in promoting their organization or event. Organizations will need to contact Chris Fosselman in Dining Services at 352-8303 prior to their event to reserve the table tent space. This is done on a first-come, first-served basis. The flyers must be the correct size (4″x 8″) or they will not be posted. A total of 110 one-sided flyers will be needed to fill table tents in the Mensa, Konditorei, and Den-Rittersaal. Table tents are put out on Mondays and Thursdays and will be posted Monday through Wednesday or Thursday through Sunday. Free laying flyers will not be allowed and will be removed immediately.

Candlelight Dinners
Candlelight Dinners are hosted by student organizations, and are arranged through Dining Services. The dinners include a short presentation by the hosts, followed by a three-course meal. The meal is served restaurant style, with waiter attendants. Candlelight Dinners are designed to enhance communication between students, faculty, staff, and administration. The dinners provide an opportunity to enjoy stimulating conversation, in addition to offering a more formal dining experience. These dinners are promoted in the Mensa by the hosting organization in the days prior to the dinner.Special diets can be accommodated if set up ahead of time.  If you are on a special diet, please let us know when signing up.  Accommodations include: vegetarian, peanut allergy, lactose intolerance, gluten-free, low fat and diabetic. Please let us know if you need any other accommodations and we will do our best to meet your needs.  These dinners are open to all current students. Faculty and staff members are by invitation only. The cost to on-board students is $3. The cost for off-board students is $15. To sign up, you must bring your student ID to the Candlelight Sign Up that is held from 5-7 p.m. in Mensa on the Wednesday and Thursday before the Candlelight Dinner. ID Card Sample

Students, faculty, and staff at Wartburg College are issued Wartburg IDs. The ID card is for campus identification and service access. It provides access to buildings, the Wellness Center, food plans, All Campus Spending and the time clock system. The user is responsible for their card.ID cards are non-transferable and for the sole use of the cardholder. The ID card is the property of Wartburg College. A lost or stolen card should be reported immediately. Lending this card to anyone, or altering it in any way, is a violation of college regulations and may result in disciplinary action. If an ID card is damaged, cracked, worn from use, or stops working there is no charge to replace it. Bring the damaged card to the Dining Office. There is also no charge if a person needs to exchange their card due to a legal name change.

Temporary Card
If your ID card has been lost or stolen, a temporary card can be purchased for $5. Temporary ID cards are valid for a one-week time period. A temporary card may be used for food plan meals in Mensa only. The cost of a replacement card is $20. An old card cannot be reactivated once a new card has been made. If you have already purchased a temporary card, the cost to get a new ID card made will be the $15 difference.

New Card
Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately to prevent use. This can be done in the Dining Office or online. The Dining Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Report your ID lost via the GET website by clicking the “I Lost My Card” tab under “Quick Lines”. You must come into the Dining Office in order to get a temporary or new card. If you find your ID card before you get a replacement, you may reactivate your card by coming to the Dining Office, or by going onto the GET website and clicking the “I Found My Card” tab under “Quick Lines”.

All Campus Spending (ACS)
All Campus Spending (ACS) is an account that you can put money on in order to make purchases on campus. It functions like a debit card. ACS can be used in all four dining locations, the Mail Center and the Wartburg Store, and the vending machine located in the Student Center.

When you use your ACS account at the Wartburg Store or dining locations on campus, you will receive a 10% discount on your purchases. There is no discount when using ACS in the Mail Center. Money can be added to ACS in the Dining Services Office (Student Center), Business Office (Luther Hall 212), and on GET.

The Mensa Dining Hall is located on the second level of the Saemann Student Center. The Mensa serves as the main dining hall for campus residents, staff, faculty, and guests. The Mensa offers 10 food courts including "classics" line, international court, taco bar, grill, pizza/pasta court, salad bar, deli line, soup station, cereal bar, and bakery bar. We even offer an abundance of vegetarian combinations—ranging from the salad bar and deli line to pasta court and bakery bars.

Students dining in the Mensa will be asked for their student ID, which is swiped at each meal period. This is a nontransferable transaction, and no credit is given for missed meals. Students with guests on campus are welcome to pay for their guests’ meals with Bonus Meals, if available, or with All Campus Spending. Faculty and staff, as well as guests, are always welcome in the Mensa. Cash and local checks are accepted, in addition to All Campus Spending. When using an All Campus Spending account, there is a 10% discount on the total purchase, making this a great value.

Den & Rittersaal

Den-Rittersaal

Located on the first floor of the Saemann Student Center, the Den-Rittersaal provides guests with upscale fast food. Made-to-order items include quesadillas, burgers, tenderloins, fish sandwich, inferno wings, cheese bread, baked spaghetti, calzones, fresh bakery items, and more.

The Den also offers a soup of the day and chili, a complete salad and deli bar, an abundance of grab-and-go options, and a tasty selection of ice cream treats, including the popular "avalanche." The Den is a great place to gather for lunch, or for students to work on homework in an inviting atmosphere. The Den is open for late hours, thereby enabling students to stop in and snatch a late dinner, or satisfy the munchies while studying.

Konditorei Coffee Shop

Conveniently located on the lower level of the Vogel Library, the Konditorei offers a cozy atmosphere that will remind you of the charm of your local coffeehouse. Inspired by the coffeehouses of Germany, the Konditorei offers a wide variety of fresh brewed, handcrafted Starbucks drinks through the “We Proudly Serve Starbucks” program.

Along with these drinks, the Konditorei offers seasonal specials. To satisfy your sweet tooth, check out the Wartburg Bakery items—including our homemade sweet bread, giant cookies, and cinnamon rolls. If you are looking for a light lunch, the Konditorei offers deli sandwiches, wraps, salads, chili, and a soup of the day. There are also many grab-and-go items and snack options to choose from. No matter which food or drink item you choose, the Konditorei is a great place to meet with friends, check your e-mail, or just take a break.

Zesty Orange

The Zesty Orange is located on the second floor of the Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center. Overlooking the pool and fitness center, this is the newest location on campus. The Zesty is open seven days a week to serve the varying needs of its customers. The menu includes, but is not limited to Pulled BBQ Pork Sandwich, Sun Butter Wrap, Konditorei Club Sandwich, Denver Sandwich, Turkey or Ham Croissant, Chicken Caesar Salad, and more.

The Zesty also has many Wartburg Bakery items—including our homemade sweet bread, giant cookies, and cinnamon rolls! To quench your thirst, they have Powerade, juice, smoothies, and more. The building is supported by the Waverly community, visitors, students, and faculty/staff. In addition to serving the general public, many sporting events are hosted in the “W,” which brings in numerous new customers. During these sporting events, the Zesty serves as a concessions area.
