Wartburg College is centrally located between most of the major metropolitan areas of the Midwest in Waverly, Iowa, a community of more than 10,000 residents within the Cedar Valley metro area of about 150,000 people. Located on “The Avenue of the Saints” (Highway 27/218) that connects Minneapolis/St. Paul to St. Louis, Waverly is easily accessible.

Important Notice: Highway 3 Bridge Construction & Detour
Beginning Aug. 1, 2024, the Iowa DOT will begin replacement of the Bremer Avenue (Iowa Highway 3) bridge across the Cedar River. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2025. If you are entering Waverly from the east, your travel will be impacted by this construction. Please follow the designated detour route on Cedar River Parkway and expect a few extra minutes to reach campus. If you are entering Waverly from any other direction, your travel will not be impacted.
