CASTLE CONNECTIONS PROGRAM

From the Castle Connections Program, you will gain a team of peer mentors, academic support staff, and faculty who are all dedicated to your success at Wartburg College. As a participant in the program, you will engage in pre-orientation activities, starting with an early move-in the afternoon of (Dates to be determined once 2025-2026 Academic Calendar is released). You will, along with a group of classmates, become familiar with the campus from the W, to the Mensa and everything in between. During this pre-orientation, you will also have the opportunity to develop your time management, study, note taking, and resilience skills, learn about campus organizations, on-campus employment options, available resources for your college success, and so much more. You will also have the opportunity to network and connect with other 1st year students on and off campus.

For the fall semester, you will be enrolled in a special Seminar 100 (SEM100) section. This is a course taken by all 1st year students designed to support your transition to college. The Castle Connections Program is committed to providing you with a high-quality academic program, as well as a tremendous social environment for learning. Finally, you will be paired with an upper-class mentor who will be by your side academically, professionally, and personally through your first-year experience.

Program Goals

  • Assist students with pursuing their passions and finding their purpose
  • Identify resources to capitalize on student strengths and support for weaknesses
  • Coach students in practicing academic success habits

Eligibility
To qualify for the program, you must be admitted to Wartburg College, submit an enrollment deposit, be identified by Admissions as a good fit for the program, and be registered for Fall Term classes.

Program Costs
There are no additional costs for the program beyond normal tuition and fees for Fall Term. Room and board for the pre-orientation activities are covered.
